On Tuesday, September 29, the Sumter County Board of County Commissioners will meet to consider the final 2026-2027 budget.

For your firefighters and paramedics, this is an important meeting.

The decisions made during the budget process affect the resources available to Sumter County Fire & EMS and, ultimately, our ability to serve the people who depend on us every day.

We answer calls across Sumter County around the clock. Fires, medical emergencies, vehicle crashes, rescues and everything in between. When someone calls 911, they expect trained firefighters and paramedics to be ready to respond.

That takes people. It takes reliable apparatus and equipment. It takes training. And it takes continued investment in the fire and EMS system as Sumter County grows.
